LEWISTON — The Maine Romance Writers, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting writers of romantic fiction, offers writers a chance for their work to be read by Secret Cravings Publishing when they enter “Strut Your Stuff,” a writing contest open to all published, self-published and unpublished writers of romantic fiction.
The winner will receive free entry to the annual MRW Writing Retreat or a $50 cash reward.
A Secret Cravings editor or agent will be the final judge of contest finalists. This means that these lucky writers will be viewed by and have the chance to attract the interest of Secret Cravings Publishing, a royalty paying e-book publisher for all genres of romance. Visit SecretCravingsPublishing.com for more information.
MRW’s published author members, currently accepting submissions from now until March 15, will provide writers feedback on key elements on their writing. Submissions must be romantic fiction of any genre and include a one- to two-paragraph blurb about the book, the first chapter up to 10 pages and a one-page dialogue scene. Each entry will be rated on a nine-point scale.
Winners will be announced May 15.
Entrants may submit more than one entry, but a separate entry fee must accompany each entry. Entry fees are $20 for MRW members and $25 for nonmembers.
For payment and submission details, visit MaineRomanceWriters.com or email [email protected] with questions.
