LEWISTON — Aaron Jackson, M.D., a rheumatologist, has joined Androscoggin Rheumatology Associates, a Lewiston-based specialty practice.

Rheumatologists treat diseases of the joints, muscles, bones and tendons. They treat patients with conditions such as rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis, muscle strains, athletic injuries, collagen diseases and lupus. They often work closely with specialists such as orthopedic surgeons and physical therapists.

Jackson began practice in the Lewiston-Auburn area nearly a decade ago, working in association with Robert A. Sylvester, M.D. A graduate of Carleton College in Northfield, Minn., he earned his medical degree from Wright State University School of Medicine of Dayton, Ohio. He is certified in rheumatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
