Danville Grange to meet March 12
AUBURN — Danville Junction Grange 65 will meet on Thursday, March 12, with a 6 p.m. supper. The business meeting will start at 7 p.m.
An interesting program will be presented by the Committee on Women’s Activities.
Members are reminded to bring their entries for the zucchini bread baking contest. Also, they are asked to bring any coupons for troops that they may have collected.
All members and guests are invited to attend.
Pine Cone Eastern Star to meet
AUBURN — Pine Cone Chapter 26 Order of the Eastern Star will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St.
The annual meeting and election of officers will be preceded by a pizza party at 6 p.m. provided by Arthur Dunlap.
Members are reminded to bring in items for the local animal shelter.
All members are welcome.
United Commercial Travelers meeting
MECHANIC FALLS — Twin City Council 160 of the United Commercial Travelers of America will meet at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at Bucknam Oaks. There will be an installation of officers for the ensuing year.
A potluck supper will be served following the business meeting.

Irish dancers to show set dancing
AUBURN — The Saint Patrick Irish dancers invite everyone to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a little dancing from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 16, in room 101 at Edward Little High School.
The group will demonstrate set dancing. Then the floor will be open to anyone who wishes to try a little jig or reel with such dances as the Two Hand Reel, Military 2-step, Gay Gordon and Haymakers Jig. No dancing experience is necessary to participate; step-by step-instruction and helpful mentors will make Irish dancing an enjoyable experience.

County Republicans to meet, dine
TURNER — The Androscoggin County Republican Committee will meet Monday, March 16, at Calvary Baptist Church, 20 North Main St.
A potluck dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m., followed by a meeting at 7.
Special guest speaker will be DHHS Commissioner Mary Mayhew.
Bring your favorite dishes, salads and drinks to share. Dessert will be provided.
Senior Citizens Cribbage League
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Lewiston Memorial Armory on March 5 were: first, Connie St. Pierre and George Bussiere; second, Cecile Bussiere and Robert Oliver; third, Sandy Oliver and Betty Ames; fourth, Roger St. Pierre and Ron Maheux; fifth, Arnie Burgess and Norm Bissonnette.
The next game will be played at 9 a.m. Thursday, March 12.

Free snowmobile rides offered
AUBURN — The Livermore Trailblazers and the Lewiston Auburn Optimist Club, are sponsoring free snowmobile rides for kids from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at the Lake Auburn Community Center, 115 North Auburn Road.
There will be a community bonfire, grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, hot chocolate and marshmallows for toasting available. Come early as food supplies are limited.
Spring fair benefits Poland food bank
POLAND — The annual spring fair fundraiser for the Poland Community Church Food Bank will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at Church Parish House, 1212 Maine St. (Route 26).
Tables and events will include Candyland, Twice Nice, springtime table, surprises, a silent auction and Chef Sharon’s annual luncheon of fish chowder or homemade soup, finger roll sandwiches, dessert and beverage.

All fair proceeds will benefit the PCC Food Bank, which serves Minot, Mechanic Falls and Poland. The first $300 raised will be matched by a local benefactor.
