1927 – 2015

SARASOTA, Fla. — June G. Davis, 87, of Hartford, died unexpectedly on Monday, March 9, at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

June was born in Hartford on June 20, 1927, the middle child of Harold and Edith (DeCoster) Gammon. She graduated from Buckfield High School in 1946, and Farmington State Teachers College in 1970. She retired from teaching first grade.

June was a lifelong resident of Hartford, enjoying the past several winters in Sarasota, Fla. She was a trustee of Increase Library in East Sumner and a member of the Hartford Recreation Committee, Hartford Community Church and the Maine Teachers Association.

Surviving are her son, Gary Davis and his wife, Nanci, of Raymond; two grandchildren, Jennifer Keane and her husband, Tom, of Carlsbad, Calif., and Zachary Davis and his significant other, Niki Brown, of Raymond; her brother, David Gammon, of South Paris; her sister, Mary Gammon Jones and her husband, Shirley, of Buckfield; and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Karen Davis, in 1995.
