1924 – 2015

TIERRA VERDE, Fla. — Agnes E. Grimmel, 90, formerly of Lewiston and a resident of Tierra Verde, Fla., passed away Wednesday morning, March 11, at her home, with family at her side.

She was born in Macwahoc Plantation on Oct. 3, 1924, a daughter of Thomas and Cora (Blier) Caron. She was educated in Macwahoc Plantation schools and remained a lifelong resident of the Lewiston community.

Agnes was married to Joseph Grimmel on Sept. 16, 1949, in Lewiston; he predeceased her in 2003.

When she and Joseph were married, they settled in Lewiston. Agnes worked as a homemaker as they raised their three children.

Among her favorite enjoyments in her free time were sewing and cooking, and she always took great pleasure in spending time with family and friends.

Agnes was a loving, devoted and hardworking wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.

She leaves behind two sons, Gary Grimmel and wife, Betty, of Florida and Dan Grimmel and lifelong companion, John Paradis, also of Florida; one daughter, Bonita Grimmel, of Florida; a daughter-in-law, Louise Grimmel, of Maine; three grandchildren, Toby and TJ Grimmel and Jennifer Brown; four great-grandchildren, Madison and Hunter Brown and Trent and Bree Grimmel; seven sisters; four brothers; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, and several sisters and brothers.
