RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of William “Bizz” Roland Carignan was celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 12, at Parish of the Holy Savior.
The Rev. Greg Dube was the celebrant, Bernard Poirier was the altar server and Mark Belanger was the organist, accompanied by the choir. Music selections were “Ave Maria,” “Amazing Grace,” “On Eagles’ Wings,” “J’irai la voir un jour” and “Let There Be Peace On Earth.” The Old Testament was proclaimed by his granddaughter, Lauren Gilbert. The New Testament was proclaimed by granddaughter, Hannah Daigle.
The Prayer of the Faithful was offered by niece, Angela Coulombe. Offertory gifts were presented by his sisters, Gloria Carignan, Pam Gill and Debbie Laperle. A poem titled “Well Met,” was read by Bob Elliott. A poem titled “I Promise” was written and read by grandson, Chris Cayer. Personal reflections were shared by granddaughter Nicole “Nikki” Cayer, and a niece, Marny Witas. Pallbearers were Christopher Cayer, Michael Gilbert, T. Michael Daigle III, Paul Carignan, James Elliott and Michael Feinberg.
Spring interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery. A reception catered by the funeral home followed at the American Legion.
