WATERVILLE — Two-time Academy Award winner Robert Redford is going to deliver the commencement address at Colby College in May.

The 78-year-old actor, director and producer will be receiving an honorary degree during the event on the lawn of Miller Library on May 26 in Waterville, Maine.

Redford is known for such films as “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,” ”Quiz Show,” ”Three Days of the Condor” and “The Way We Were.” He received an Oscar in his directorial debut for “Ordinary People” as well as one for Lifetime Achievement.

He’s also known as the founder Sundance Film Festival. This year, he debuted “A Walk in the Woods,” an adaptation of the book by Bill Bryson, at the festival. He and Nick Nolte star in the movie.
