1919 – 2015
Irene Landry Marier, 95, of Gorham, formerly of Westbrook and Lewiston, passed away on Saturday, March 14, at St. Joseph’s in Portland.
She was born in Lewiston on Dec. 3, 1919, to parents Frederick and Emma (Bouchard) Leblond.
She was an avid reader and accomplished seamstress. She was skilled at many needle arts.
She leaves behind her brother, Frederick Leblond and his wife, Fernande, of Portland; sister Sylvia Bolduc of Cumberland; sisters-in-law, Fernande Hamann, Juliette Bannister, Jeanne Lessard and Arlene Landry, all of the Lewiston area, and Gisele Marier of Westbrook; daughter, Colette, and son-in-law, Richard Poliquin, of Bath; son, Robert Landry, and daughter-in-law, Janet, of Durham; daughter, Alida Landry, and son-in-law, Keith Lynds, of Gorham; sons and their wives, Andre and Yvonne Marier of Brossard, P.Q, Pierre and Jeannie Marier of Raymond, and Marc and Lori Marier of Hong Kong; many nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Irene was predeceased by her first husband, Philippe Landry; and by her second husband, Florent Marier.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff at St. Joseph’s for the care they provided.
