While driving to Roxbury from Rumford on March 12, the little truck I was driving hit a patch of black ice, skidded across the road and plowed into a snowbank. My cell phone was in a dead zone so I couldn’t call for help.
Most of the cars going by stopped to ask if I was alright. Finally, a man and woman (whom I call my two knights in a shiny white pickup) stopped and pulled out my truck and I was on my way.
As I drove off, I had a very good feeling. I thought to myself, of all the things going wrong in this world, some Americans still have resolve and goodwill in their hearts to do the right thing and help if they can.
Thank you, America.
