PORTSMOUTH, N.H. — Authorities say a police standoff with an armed man at a Portsmouth motel has ended, after the man apparently shot himself.
A SWAT team and several armored police vehicles surrounded the America’s Best Inn where law enforcement officials were attempting to arrest a Massachusetts suspect Friday night.
Police say they were asked to help Cambridge, Massachusetts, police in a search for a burglary suspect sought after shots were fired at a police officer.
Authorities say 30-year-old Nicholas Cammarata, of Saugus, Massachusetts, was found at the motel.
Police say the standoff ended Friday night when Cammarata was found dead in an motel room of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
