1952 – 2015
TOGUS — Mark W. Andrews, 62, a resident of Wales, passed away Saturday, March 21, at Togus Veterans Hospital.
He was born Sept. 8, 1952, in Lewiston, the son of Eugene C. Andrews and Clarinda (Kingsford) Andrews. He attended school in Wales and was a 1971 graduate of Monmouth Academy.
Mark served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, becoming disabled because of an automobile accident while stationed in Germany. Mark was a member of Disabled American Veterans, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Alpha One Disability Advocacy Group and Maine Independent Living Services. Mark also served on the Board of Directors for Rural Community Action Ministry, the Planning Board for the Town of Wales, the Wales Charter Committee and the Board of Appeals.
A great conversationalist and generous being, he made a friend everywhere he went. While he had many caregivers, he cared for others just as much.
He is survived by his mother, Clarinda Andrews; brothers, Mike Andrews, Chris Andrews and his wife, Christy, Alden Andrews and Scott Andrews, all of Wales; his niece, Mallory Andrews; and nephew, Isaac Andrews.
He was predeceased by his father, Eugene Andrews.
