JAY — North Jay is the setting for a “Mystery on Macomber Hill,” a nonfiction novel by Maine author John F. Balser Jr. aimed at the tween/young-adult audience.

Life on the “Hill” turns exciting in June of 1957 when eleven-year-old Jake finds an old jar hidden in the cellar. The jar contains a paper that propels him and his brother, Billy, into a summer of frustration, intrigue and discovery.
