To inspire the kids’ imaginations,we are looking for donations of dress-up clothing and accessories for boys and girls. Any kids’ gowns, dresses, Halloween costumes, capes, outgrown dance clothes, crowns, wings, etc. The kids love the glitter and jewelry. Many of their siblings will be there as well and we hope we will be able to provide enough dress-up clothes for them to wear, too.

Call Esther at 207-212-8333 for questions and pick-up in the Sabattus/Litchfield area. Call Janelle at 207-514-5159 or 207-241-2398 for pick-up in the Lewiston/Auburn area. Clothing can also be dropped off at the school.

Thank you Sun Spots and a special thanks, in advance, to any readers who are able to help us. — Esther and Janelle, Literacy committee.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: On March 20, as I was leaving my apartment building at Roak Block, I stepped on the top of a cigarette butt receptacle which had blown off its base and I fell. This very thoughtful lady stopped her car and helped me get up. Lots of traffic, but this lady took the time to help. I am very grateful to her and God bless her and thank you so much. — A very thankful lady in Auburn.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I enjoy reading Sun Spots every morning with my Raisin Bran; you provide a valuable service.

I believe No Name in Lewiston’s question about the difference in PTFC [Property Tax Fairness Credit] for 2014 from 2013 (03-28-15) is more simply answered by stating that for tax year 2014 Social Security earnings are factored in to determine the amount of credit — they were not factored in, in 2013.

I am a volunteer tax preparer and this is how the change has been explained to us. Perhaps readers might want to share with our representatives in Augusta the impact of this change. — No Name, No Town.
