WAYNE — Support and generosity were in great abundance on Feb. 28 as hundreds gathered at the Heather Black Benefit Dinner and Auction, showing Heather Black, of Wayne, that the community stood her side as she continued her cancer treatments.

The benefit, with the generous support from area businesses, private donors and cash donations, as well as great auction purchases, raised $7,000 for Black’s increasing medical bill.

As Black and her family thanked those present at the Ladd Center in Wayne, she said, “It really does ‘take a village’; I am lucky to have such a large, caring village, and I am glad it is you!”

Donations to the fund may sent, with mention of Black, to the Wayne Community Church, P.O. Box 300, Wayne, ME 04284, or online at www.gofundme.com/kq425k.
