TURNER — Public supper season for the North Turner Presbyterian Church will get under way from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 10, with the widely popular and fun Mud Supper. The supper is held at the GAR Hall on Howes Corner Road (Route 219) about 1/4 mile east of the Route 4 and Route 219 intersection in North Turner.
Donations will be accepted at the door.
Celebrating Maine’s “fifth” season, this supper features everything brown with such standards as brown beans and hot dogs, golden mac’n’cheese, lasagna and chili, and chocolate everything, including cake, pie, brownies and cookies.
The supper will also feature the debut of this year’s handmade quilt that will be up for auction throughout the supper season. Bids may be put in at any of the public suppers throughout the season and the winning bid will be announced at Harvest Supper in October.
Proceeds from this and all suppers throughout the season are used for the church’s outreach programs, which include the Turner Food Bank, the Community Clothing Center, heating oil assistance and church operational expenses.
