In August of 2013, Tim Hofmann, a Maine-born comedian, artist and father, opened up his home to his fellow Maine comedians. In his basement, which he dubbed the “Laugh Shack,” friends and comics would meet a few times a month to drink and laugh together. The basement group has grown into a traveling comedy show. On Friday, May 1, the Laugh Shack is coming to 49 Franklin in Rumford. Hofmann will be joined by Portland’s Will Green as well as Boston comedians Sam Ike, Conor Allen and James Lindsay for a night of club-style stand up comedy. Theater snacks and adult beverages will be available for purchase. Tickets, $15 at the door and $12 in advance, are available at www.49Franklin.com or on Congress Street in Rumford at All That Jazz and Bartash’s after April 6. Doors open at 7 p.m.; the show begins at 8. This is an 18-plus event.
