LEWISTON — Jami L. Morissette of Lewiston, a senior at Lewiston High School, has been selected to receive the 2015 Principal’s Award, according to principal Shawn Chabot. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.

Morissette has been an extremely active student/athlete and community member during her four years at LHS. She has been involved in Student Council, L-A Youth Court and a member of the Executive Board.

Morissette has been a member of the Lewiston High School Swim Team for the past four years as well as captain for the past two years. She recently received All-Academic Honors for the swim team.

She has spent countless hours volunteering for her church over the years.

She possesses incredible confidence, honesty, integrity and work ethic. Besides being highly motivated, energetic and driven to succeed, Morissette has a great sense of emotional maturity and a desire to consistently serve those less fortunate.

Morissette is determined to become a nurse. 

Morissette, Chabot and other award winners and principals will attend an Honors Luncheon at the Spectacular Event Center in Bangor at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 11.

The Honors Luncheon recognizes these outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque and the awarding of five $1,000 scholarships.

The principals award is presented in more than 100 Maine public and private high schools.
