This is a time for people in the area to be supportive of rail bill LD 323. Passage of the bill would fund a study to determine if passenger rail service should return to the Lewiston-Auburn area.
For some future riders, it would be for pleasure; others could get to employment. There are some local people who remember when there were passenger trains here, many years ago.
Lewiston-Auburn has been passed over for easy transportation access. The Turnpike is not that near downtown and Route 295 is almost 20 miles away.
