ROXBURY — Selectmen heard Tuesday night that the town has placed an ad in the local paper seeking bids for demolition and removal of all material from certain structures on Main Street, board secretary Doreen Stinson said Wednesday.

Bids are due by 3 p.m. Friday, April 24, and will be opened at the board’s meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 28.

One of the structures was owned by Brenda Carvalho of Lowell, Mass. At a previous board meeting, selectmen voted to give her from April 10 to April 30 to remove any personal belongings prior to the town hiring a contractor to demolish it. The board had declared it a dangerous building and recently foreclosed on it for nonpayment of taxes.

In other business, selectmen were advised that people seeking burning permits must contact Roxbury fire Chief Ray Carver or fire Capt. Roland Patneaude.
