HARRISON — The Harrison Lions Club has established the Lion Hearted Award to be presented a person up to age of 18 and a person over 18.

To be eligible, persons must reside in Bridgton, Harrison, Naples or Waterford and have demonstrated at least one of the following traits:

* Innovative in solving a particular problem.

* Gone beyond normal friendship to be a good neighbor.

* Had a significant impact on an individual or the community.

* Helped an individual or the community in an hour of need without personal recognition or financial reward.

* Shown courage through a personal situation.

* Overcome a particular challenge.

* Gone above and beyond as a volunteer.

Nominations must include the following written narrative in 500 words or less and are be submitted by May 1.

* An explanation of why the individual should be considered;

* A description of the individual’s most significant contribution and/or achievement;

* A description of the impact that the contribution or achievement has had on the community;

* Any other insights that underscore the individual’s achievement.

The award recipients and one guest will be invited to the Harrison Lions Club award dinner in June. Other guests are welcome but must pay the dinner fee.
