PARIS — Selectmen on Monday gave preliminary approval to a proposed $4.5 million municipal budget that would likely keep property tax bills the same in fiscal year 2015-16.
Overall, the town is projected to spend $99,351 more than last year because of a 3 percent pay raise for employees, the town manager’s contract and capital improvements.
However, the spending will be outpaced by more revenues, mostly excise taxes, which are expected to rise by $103,806. The tallies result in a net $4,455 decrease.
New expenses include money set aside for maintenance of the Fox School, summer help at the Highway Department, and adding an hour to shifts at the Fire Department.
Selectmen voted Monday to add the funding requests to the town meeting warrant.
