1946 – 2015
STAFFORD SPRINGS, Conn. — Donna Chadwick Moriarty, 68, a former resident of Livermore Falls, died very unexpectedly on Saturday, April 4, at her home in Stafford, Conn.
She was born on Sept. 3, 1946, in Everett, Mass., to the late Harold and Grace (White) Chadwick. Soon after her birth, the family moved to Livermore Falls. Donna attended local schools and graduated from Livermore Falls High School in 1964. She then attended the University of Maine at Farmington and graduated in 1968.
Her first teaching job was at St. Rose of Lima School in Jay. She then moved to Stafford Springs, Conn., and worked in the Stafford Springs school system. She later taught for many years at St. Edward’s School. Most recently she was employed at Eastern Connecticut State University. Donna was a faithful parishioner of St. Edward Church, a member of Court Isabella No. 785 Catholic Daughters of America and chairman of the Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation of Stafford. She also enjoyed her hobby of crocheting, making potholders, hats and baby blankets, many of which she donated.
Donna is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 39 years, Francis Moriarty; three children, Lisa Moriarty, Jennifer Corti and her husband, Robert, and Jeffrey Moriarty and his partner, Walter Vosburgh; two cherished grandchildren, Matthew and Alexandra Corti; and her brother, Ronald Chadwick and his wife, Sandra.
