Sons of Italy to meet
RUMFORD — The Sons of Italy in Rumford will have their regular meeting at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 26.
They will have the instillation of officers followed by a pot luck supper.
SeniorsPlus to hold caregiver training
RUMFORD — SeniorsPlus will hold the Savvy Caregiver 1 training for Oxford County from 2 to 4 p.m., Tuesdays, April 28 to June 2, at the Rumford Armory.
The class is designed for those caring for family members with dementia, training how to reduce stress and communicate more easily with the loved ones.
This class is free but pre-registration is required. It is sponsored by the Maine University of New England Geriatric Education Center.

March for Violence-Free Communities April 29
FARMINGTON — Franklin County’s Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Services will hold the 17th annual March for Violence-Free Communities on Wednesday, April 29.
Participants will gather outside of the University of Maine at Farmington’s Student Center building on South Street in Farmington at 5:30 p.m.
Marchers are invited to carry signs to raise awareness, make noise, and have fun. The March will lead to a Speak Out in the North Dining Hall of the UMF Student Center. The Speak Out is an opportunity for attendees to talk about their experiences, feelings, and thoughts about the issues surrounding all forms of violence. It is a safe space for people to say as much or as little as they like.
This is a free event, and it is open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
