1924 – 2015
LEWISTON — Julienne S. St. Pierre, 90, a resident of Jean Street, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, April 19, with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Lewiston on July 28, 1924, the daughter of Louis Philippe and Ernestine (Hamann) Gagne. She graduated from St. Peter’s School and received her GED from Lewiston High School.
Julienne retired in 1985 as manager of Lewiston High School Food Service. She belonged to the Basilica of Sts Peter and Paul of the Prince of Peace Parish. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne, where she was a former treasurer, La Survivance Francaise, Bambi Club, Sabattus Senior Citizens, Holy Cross Senior Citizens, Horizons 55, Covenant 50, and a former member of NALC Auxiliary.
Her hobbies included crossword and jigsaw puzzles, embroidery, playing cards and travel. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She married Lionel M. St. Pierre on Sept. 3, 1945. He died April 26, 1997.
Survivors include five daughters, Constance St. Pierre and husband, Peter Grenon, of Largo, Fla., Pauline Chappell and husband, Barry, of Kingwood, Texas, Linda Boucher and husband, Marc, of Hampden, Janice Fournier and husband, Daniel, of Lewiston, and Joline Ward and husband, Christopher, of Durham; two sons, retired Col. Normand St. Pierre and wife, Pearl, of Leeds, and Robert St. Pierre and wife, Sue, of Clinton; two sisters, Marguerite Thibault of Lewiston, and Denise Morin of Auburn.; two brothers, Louis P. Gagne Jr. and wife, Yolande, of Auburn, and Andre Gagne and wife, Monique, of Lewiston. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by one granddaughter, Christine Fournier; and two sisters, Yvette Williams and Cecile Rancourt.
