COLUMBIA, S.C. — Army Pfc. Travis M. Farrar has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the army mission, history, tradition and core values, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.
Farrar is the son of Syrinna T. Hall of South Paris and Ernest Farrar of Hartford. He is also the son-in-law of Cody Mcdougal of Waterford.
He is a 2008 graduate of Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in South Paris and earned an associate degree in 2010 from Central Maine Community College in Auburn.
