PARIS — The Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School String Quartet will make a guest appearance at the Maine State Legislature on Thursday, April 23, at 9 a.m. It will play a variety of selections in the rotunda, then perform the “Star Spangled Banner” for the opening of the legislative session. Its music coach is Cynthia R. Wescott.
The quartet will also perform for the Fire Victims’ Benefit Show on Thursday, May 7, at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at OHCHS at 256 Main St. in South Paris. The show includes singers, dancers and instrumentalists from the school and community in support of the Riman family who are homeless after a fire recently consumed their home and belongings. Stephen Corning, a professional juggler and performer, will serve as master of ceremonies. There is no set fee for this upbeat and exciting show. Donations are appreciated to help this family that has lost everything.
