Calvary United Methodist Church to hold luncheon
LEWISTON — Calvary United Methodist Church will hold its annual lobster roll luncheon Friday, May 1.
Orders are currently being taken for the bagged lunches, which include a lobster roll with lots of chunky lobster meat, chips, pickle, chocolate chip cookie and choice of bottled water or soda. Cost is $10.
Individual and group orders may be picked up any time between 6:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the church, 59 Sabattus St. Use the Bartlett Street entrance.
Orders can also be picked up from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at United Methodist Church, 439 Park Ave., Auburn.
For large orders, advance arrangements may be made to have them delivered.

Parish Guild yard sale set for May 2
AUBURN — The Parish Guild will hold an indoor yard sale from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 2, at High Street Congregational Church, 106 Pleasant St., Auburn.
This is one of fundraisers for the Church Guild. The Guild has several organizations they help to support. They have given cash donations to the Salvation Army, American Red Cross and Habitat For Humanity. The Guild also collects items from the congregation and prepares Hygiene Kits to be sent to The Church World Service. These kits are sent to locations throughout the world in times of disasters.
Refreshments will be available.
Touch-a-Truck set for May 2
AUBURN — United Way of Androscoggin County will host the fifth annual Touch-a-Truck event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at the Central Maine Community College.
The free event gives children the opportunity to interact with and see dozens of vehicles, including emergency vehicles and race cars. Adult supervision is required.
First Saturday will have pastries, book sale, boutique
WAYNE — The Williams House will host a First Saturday event from 9 a.m. to noon on May 2 at 14 Old Winthrop Road.
There will be refreshments, and proceeds from the boutique and book sale will benefit the Wayne Library Association.
Bean, spaghetti supper in Pownal
The North Pownal United Methodist Church will hold a public baked bean and spaghetti supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, at 851 Lawrence Road, Pownal.
Tickets for adults cost $8, children aged 4 to 12 years $3, and 3 years and under are free.

Ladies Auxiliary to meet
GRAY — The Ladies Auxiliary will hold monthly dinners from 5 to 6 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month at American Legion Post 86, Route 100.
The meal is buffet style. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children younger than 12.
Knights plan bean, casserole supper
SABATTUS — The Knights of Columbus of the Our Lady of the Rosary Parish will sponsor a baked beans and casserole supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at Maxwell-Gill Hall, adjacent to Our Lady of the Rosary, 131 High St.
Proceeds will benefit parish programs.
Contributions for the complete supper including desserts and beverages are $8 for adults, $4 for children under 12.

BOWDOIN — The annual meeting of the Woodlawn Cemetery Association will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 2, at West Bowdoin Baptist Church, Multi-Purpose Room, on West Road.
Trinity Jubilee Center to host Empty Bowls Supper
AUBURN — The Trinity Jubilee Center’s will host the 11th annual Empty Bowls Supper from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, at the First Universalist Church, 169 Pleasant St., Auburn.
Potters from around the state have donated hundreds of bowls, plates and mugs and more than a dozen local restaurants have donated food. This is a family-friendly event and participants are invited to purchase a piece of pottery, eat dinner and enjoy live music by Greg and Jessie Boardman and the Bates College group Chase the Fiddlers.
The Jubilee Center is a community center in downtown Lewiston, open six days a week. Proceeds from the Empty Bowls Supper benefit the center’s programs, including a soup kitchen, food pantry, resource center, refugee assistance program, and day shelter.

Mr. and Mrs. Fish entertain Auburn students
AUBURN — “Mr. and Mrs. Fish,” Jeff and Deb Saunders of South Portland, entertained more than 600 students in grades kindergarten to sixth on Friday, April 17, at Auburn’s Fairview Elementary School.
The event was sponsored by New England Water Environment Association and Maine Water Environment Association.
Mr. and Mrs. Fish described the wastewater heroes that protect water resources with two presentations. Younger students learned about the “Mystery of the Clam” and older students witnessed the “Plankton and the Food Chain.”
