1924 – 2015

LEWISTON — Lucille A. Henault, 91, of Lewiston, died peacefully Thursday, April 23, at Montello Manor with her family by her side.

She was born in Coaticook, Quebec, Canada, Feb. 10, 1924, a daughter of the late Louis and Rose Tanguay McDuff.

Lucille and Emile married Aug. 25, 1945, and worked the family farm until moving with their family to Lewiston in 1959.

Lucille worked at Town Dress in Lewiston for many years as a stitcher, as well as many years at various shoe shops. She later worked 12 years at Bates Manufacturing until she retired at age 64.

Lucille was a member of Holy Cross Church, Prince of Peace Parish, at which she was part of the volunteer team to clean the church. She was an active member of the Ladies of Holy Cross; La Rencontre; Jacques Cartier Club; St. Croix Club, Sabattus; and Auburn Seniors.

Lucille enjoyed line dancing from the time she retired to her late 80s, playing cards and spending time with her family and many friends. Family gatherings always included her wonderful cooking and her specialty, caramel pie.

Our mom will be remembered for her love and dedication to family.

She is survived by her husband, Emile, of 69 years; and four children, Helene Veilleux of Goffstown, N.H., Ginette Morin and husband, Robert, of Derry, N.H., Gabrielle Maheux and husband, Paul, of Lewiston,,Gerard Henault and wife, Linda (Mailhot) Henault, of Lisbon; grandchildren, Michael Morin and Tom Morin, Steven Maheux, Susan Keefe, Anne-Marie Maheux, Sarah, Valerie and Carla Henault; great-grandchildren, Lucie and Elizabeth Morin, Troy and Cadence Maheux, Jacob and Nathan Keefe, Dominic and Cameron Byron, Alex, Joshua and Claire Morin and Vivian Lautz, with two new arrivals coming in September.

She was predeceased by a son, Andre Henault, who died at a very young age; and a stepbrother, Gerard McDuff.

The family wishes to thank Kathleen, Lise and Mary at Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice and the staff at Montello Manor for their compassionate care.
