I am writing to express my full support and endorsement of state Sen. Amy Volk’s bill, which would increase the length of a state Senate term from two to four years. She has presented very thorough and complete reasons for doing so:
• It would give senators more time to address the many difficult issues facing the state and less time having to campaign for election.
• It would save money from the Clean Elections Fund.
• Since it staggers terms, it would still provide for a 50 percent turnover rate for election every two years.
• It would allow for a referendum where the issue could be debated and the voters could decide its fate.
