AUBURN — The YMCA of Auburn-Lewiston announces its May programs for children and adults. All programs take place at 62 Turner St., Auburn, with the exception of Camp Connor and Teen Leadership Camp.
Young Guns: For teens age 12-15, Young Guns teaches the fundamentals of exercise and nutrition to help young athletes get the most out of their workouts. Sessions include gym time and brief classroom instruction. From 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 5-28.
Kids Art Class: Local artist Debra Trafton leads children age 7-17 in an introduction to watercolor. Supplies provided. From 10 a.m. to noon, May 9.
Youth Swim Lessons: All ages and ability levels welcome. Multiple days and times available. May 11-June 20.
Lunch and Learn: Diabetes Prevention with Rachel McGarry, registered dietician and certified diabetes prevention instructor at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. From 11:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 12. A light lunch will be provided.
Summer Camp Sign-Ups: Registration is open for Camp Connor, Y Kids Camp and Teen Leadership Camp. For children entering kindergartern through 10th grade. Sessions available June 22 through August 21.
Pickleball: A combination of ping pong, badminton and tennis, pickleball is a low-impact cardio sport for people of all ages. From noon to 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m., every Friday.
Group Exercise Classes: Multiple classes available, seven days a week, including Aqua Zumba in the pool. Visit www.alymca.org or visit the YMCA Welcome Center for a complete schedule.
