1919 – 2015

LEWISTON — Yvette A. Langlais, 95, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 25, at Marshwood Center Health Care, following a brief illness.

She was born in Saint-Éphrem-de-Beauce, Canada, on Oct. 10, 1919, the daughter of Joseph and Marie (Gagnon) Rodrigue. She was educated in Lewiston schools.

Yvette had been employed for 19 years at the former Androscoggin Mill, and was employed 23 years as an inspector and weaver at the former Bates Mill.

Yvette married the love of her life, Arthur Langlais, on July 2, 1938, and together, they raised four children. He predeceased her on Nov. 10, 1993.

She was a member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, the Ladies of St. Anne Sodality, La Rencontre, St. Mary’s Heritage Center and local senior citizens organizations.

Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Cadrin and husband, Roger, of Lewiston; two sons, Robert Langlais and wife, Sylvia, of Lewiston, Rick Langlais and wife, Sue, of Lewiston; one daughter-in-law, Joline Langlais; six grandchildren, Rachel Maier, Louise Fillebrown, Carrie MacDonald, Norman Langlais, Cheryl Cadrin and Nicholas Langlais; three great-grandchildren, Taylor and Zachary Fillebrown, Easton Langlais; and great-stepgrandson, Travis Maier. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, Arthur, she was predeceased also by her son, Larry.
