PORTLAND — A pastel painting, “Edge of the Woods,” by Waterford artist Barbara Traficonte,  is one of 41 accepted for the 16th international juried exhibition for “Pastels Only,” that will be on display at the Portland Public Library, Lewis Gallery, June 5-27.

The opening reception for the show is from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 5, at the Lewis Gallery.

The 41 artists chosen for the exhibit represent 13 states. 

The show is sponsored by thePastel Painters of Maine, which promotes public awareness of pastels and creates a network for local and regional artists.
