CASCO — Maine’s largest state park camping area is opening for the season.

State officials say the camping area at Sebago Lake State Park is reopening on Friday. It averages 90,000 campers per season and has 250 individual campsites. Ninety of the campsites have power and water hookups.

The state park is known for the two beaches on the north shore of Sebago Lake. The park also has an amphitheater, two playgrounds, a nature center, six miles of hiking trails and a boat launch.

The temperature at the state park was 49 degrees late Friday morning.
