Middle School Tennis Registrations

FARMINGTON — The Farmington Recreation Department is now taking registrations for Middle School Tennis for students in grades 6, 7 and 8.

The deadline to register for spring tennis program is 5 p.m. Monday, May 11. The program is limited to the first 10 to register.

Participants will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Hippach Field Tennis Courts, beginning Tuesday, May 12 and continuing until Thursday, June 4 .

Players will learn and practice basic strokes, as well as gain understanding of the rules and scoring associated with the game. Through a variety of fundamental drills, students will be taught the proper method for hitting forehands, backhand and serves. As the players progress, each will play practice sets against others of similar ability. Participants must supply their own rackets and water bottles.

The registration fee is $ 25.00 and should be paid by check to program director Mackenzie Conlogue. There is a $ 5 non-resident fee charged to participants who do not reside in the town of Farmington (Farmington, West Farmington, Farmington Falls or Fairbanks) or whose parents do not pay property taxes to the Town of Farmington.
