FARMINGTON — An Annual Warbler walk put on by Western Maine Audubon takes place this Saturday at 7 a.m. starting at the Whistle Stop trailhead in West Farmington.
Come rain or shine, and stay for 1-2 hrs or more. This is a fun event for folks of all levels of ability.
Bring binoculars and dress appropriately for the weather. Some stay for just an hour or two, but some linger longer if the birding is good.
The start of the Whistle Stop Trail in West Farmington is opposite the West Farmington Post Office. Drive in and back to the parking area at the start of the trail where the group will gather.
Warblers are around. Last Saturday Kate Weatherby led an informal walk in the Flint Woods in Farmington and said she “found Black-throated Blue, Palm, Pine, and Black-and-white Warblers and heard Black-throated Green. Also, saw and heard Blue-headed Vireos.”
