1953 – 2015

BRIDGTON — Susan Lee Managan, 62, lost her courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, May 6.

She was born in Lewiston on March 1, 1953, the daughter of Harry and Doris Stevens.

Susan was a graduate of Oxford Hill High School and furthered her education attending Springfield College in Manchester, N.H., receiving her master’s degree in substance abuse counseling.

She worked for many years counseling those in need at Tri-County Mental Health before opening her own practice, Free Spirited Counseling Services, in Norway and Bridgton.

Susan enjoyed spending time with her family and had a very special love for her grandchildren. She had a soft spot in her heart for anyone in need often putting others ahead of herself. Susan will be missed by her loving family and her large circle of friends.

She is survived by her loving husband, Dan Managan; two sons, Richard Thompson and soul mate, Jamie Arcand, of Naples, David Neal Jr. and wife, Megan, of Bridgton; her daughter, Kathaleen Ferland and husband, Andrew, of Melvin Village, N.H.; stepchildren, Shane Tripp of Sebago and Becky Tripp of Naples; three brothers, Harry “Butch” Stevens and wife, Brenda, of West Paris, Bradley Stevens and wife, Hazel, of Oxford, Dana Stevens of Oxford; her sister, Betsy Stevens of Oxford.

Susan is also survived by her adoring grandchildren, Breanna and Ricky Thompson, Molly, Jacob, Lillian and Gabrielle Ferland, Riley, Tyler, Connor, and Tiana Neal, Kacie and Cole Tripp, Amina Meziani and Melody Millett; and her favorite aunt, Gracie Stone.

She is predeceased by her sister, Carol.
