LEWISTON — A family tribute honoring the life of Virginia A. Souza was held Friday, May 8, at the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home. Virginia’s son, Jeffrey Souza, presided at the service introducing family members who shared words of remembrance about Virginia. Those family members were grandsons, Eben and Andrew Dingman; granddaughter, Amy Dingman; son-in-law, Charles Dingman; daughter-in-law, Meg Souza; and concluding with final words and reflections from Virginia’s son, Jeffrey Souza.
Following a procession to Valley Cemetery, Jeffrey introduced his grandfather’s flag that his grandmother, Virginia, was presented at her husband’s passing in 1997 by the United States military. Because Virginia loved her husband Arnold’s American flag, she asked that it be folded at her service so it would be continued to be cared for by her family. The flag folders were grandchildren, Eben and Andrew Dingman.
The pallbearers were Emily, Andrew, Eben and Charles Dingman, as well as David and Jeffrey Souza.
At the conclusion of graveside services all in attendance were invited to Marco’s Restaurant in Lewiston for a reception of fellowship. Arrangements by Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home of Lewiston.
