LEWISTON — Lewiston Adult Education has announced their course schedule for the Summer of 2015. Day and evening courses will be available for members of the community interested in finishing their High School Diploma, gearing up for college or building skills for a new job.

Classes start in early June and meet at Lewiston High School unless otherwise noted.

Workforce Training courses will include the Culinary Arts Certificate, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training course and MS Excel I & II.

The College Transition Program will also be available for adults interested in pursuing a college degree. This program is available at no cost, and helps participants refresh their academic skills, complete the financial aid process and get their application submitted so they can begin college in the fall.

Academic classes that offer High School Diploma credit as well as college prerequisite credit will also be available, including Algebra I and Critical Reading and Technical Writing.

HiSET prep courses (formerly GED), English for Speakers of Other Languages and Adult Basic Education classes are also available on an ongoing basis. A Citizenship course will also be starting June 11th. These classes are held at the Adult Learning Center, 145 Birch St.
