Jewelers will be
put on a waitlist

LOVELL — The Lovell Arts & Artisans Fair is looking for new artists and craftsmen. The fair, benefiting the Charlotte Hobbs Memorial Library, will celebrate its 40th year this August. Each year, new artists are sought to join the more than 40 returning exhibitors.

All interested craftsmen must submit physical work by 7 p.m., June 8. Fair officials  ask to see a full, representative sample of work, with a note about materials, process and technique. An idea of selling price is also helpful. The jury is scheduled for June 9.

Items to be juried must be left at or sent to: Charlotte Hobbs Memorial Library, PO Box 105, Lovell, ME 04051. Artists are asked to contact [email protected] prior to let them know they plan to send your art.

The fair is currently not accepting new jewelers, but will put jewelers on the wait if they request it.

Through June, the library open on from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday and Thursday; and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday and Friday. Saturday hours are 9 to 1 p.m. The library is closed on Tuesday and Sunday.

It is the artist’s responsibility to pick up the submitted items, after the jurying or cover any mailing costs if they are to be returned by mail. Results of the judging are promptly given by mail and decisions are final. On acceptance, fair officials request an “accepted artist agreement” be returned to us as soon as possible with a nonrefundable space reservation check of $30. Craftsmen donate 15 percent of their gross sales to the Charlotte Hobbs Library on the day of the fair.
