LEWISTON — Book reviewer “extraordinaire” Michael Magras, will give a talk entitled, “Book Reviewing in the Age of Social Media,” at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 18, at Callahan Hall, Lewiston Public Library.

Magras is a member of the National Book Critics Circle and his reviews have appeared in a variety of publications from the Los Angeles Review of Books to Down East Magazine.

In his LPL talk Magras will discuss what it’s like to be a book reviewer in the age of Facebook and Twitter. He will also discuss his approach to reviewing, the titles he’s covered, and the ways in which social media have led to the democratization of book discussions. The free, public program will end with a Q&A.
