1951 – 2015
AUBURN —Kathryn “Kathie” Joanne Pendleton, 63, of Auburn, passed away on Mothers Day, Sunday, May 10, at the Androscoggin Home and Hospice House.
Kathie was born Oct. 13, 1951, in Roswell, N.M., to Joseph E. Roach and Marion Campbell Roach.
Growing up in a U.S. Air Force family, she attended schools in the U.S. and Germany. In 1966, the family moved to Mechanic Falls, where she attended the local high school and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1971.
She worked in the healthcare profession for more than 30 years and was employed at Pineland Center in Pownal, St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, Murphy Homes and many social service agencies in the area.
Kathie was an avid reader and loved antiques, gardening, yard sales and cooking.
She is survived by her husband, Mark E. Pendleton, of Auburn; step-daughters, Katie Cooper and husband, Calvin; and son, Israel of Farmington; step-daughter, Rachel of Bangor; two sisters, Elizabeth J. Manchester and husband, Charles, of Litchfield, and Dianne M. Ward of Bath; two brothers, Eric D. Roach and wife, Judith, of Sidney, and Thomas A. Roach and wife, Jeanine, of McKinney, Texas; one uncle, Robert F. Campbell of Lynn, Mass.; nine nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents; and her mother-in-law, Marguerite Pendleton Nichols.
