The State Fire Marshal’s Office has arrested a young man from Woodstock in connection with two fires at seasonal homes on the same road that the man lives on, according to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety. Charged with two counts of arson and burglary is 19 year old Jordan Caldwell. He was arrested Saturday afternoon by Fire Investigator Danny Young and taken to the Oxford County Jail. Caldwell is expected in court today.

Fire Marshals say he broke in and set fire to a home at 245 Gore Road on March 26. The house burned to the ground. On Friday, a second house at 255 Gore Road was gutted by fire and will likely have to be torn down. Fire Marshals say the damage to the two buildings will exceed a half million dollars.

Caldwell lives with his parents a short distance from both homes. Investigators say he broke into the houses, stole a number of items and then set fire to both buildings.
