It is that time of year when someone might come to your door offering to seal your driveway, wash your house, clean your chimney, trim your hedges, etc. And they need payment up front, before the job (to buy necessary equipment or supplies).

I would warn against any payment until the job is done, and done satisfactorily. There are scammers out there who would take advantage of unsuspecting seniors to rob them. They take the money and are never seen again.
