AUBURN — The Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments is offering a two-hour workshop on what it takes to start a business and find out if it is right for you.

The workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, May 27, and Wednesday, June 24, at the same time. Both workshops will be held at AVCOG, 125 Manley Road, Auburn.

A Maine Small Business Development Center business counselor will cover all aspects of owning a business, the steps needed to get started and connections to the many resources available to help a new business owner succeed. Topics to be discussed will include: Does a new business owner need a license or certification? Where to go for financing and how? Is a business plan needed?
