KINGFIELD – On June 27 the Bangor Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Grammy Award winning Lucas Richman, and Maine’s own Rustic Overtones will co-headline the celebration of rhythms, melodies and harmonies at the 13th annual Kingfield POPS.
In addition to individual performances, Rustic Overtones and the Bangor Symphony Orchestra will perform together, bringing a fresh sound to western Maine.
The Western Mountain Trash Can Band, Trina Hamlin, Dave Rowe Trio, Sidy Maiga, and Inana, Sisters in Rhythm complete the festival lineup. The festivities end with a firework grand finale set to the music of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra.
Weekend activities include The Kingfield Artwalk, a road race and the Kingfield POPS Festival of the Arts. For the second year in a row, the Carrabassett Valley chapter of NEMBA will host an introductory guided mountain bike ride designed to introduce participants to the sport of mountain biking. There is no charge to take part in the ride which is run at a pace that is fun and safe for beginners.

The 2015 Kingfield POPS will be held at the Kennedy Farm, Route 142 in Kingfield. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. The ticket price is $25 after May 15 and at the gate, tickets will be $30. Youth 17 and under are always free.
Picnics are welcome and blankets or lawn chairs encouraged. Tickets are available on the Kingfield POPS website; at the Kingfield, Stratton, Rangeley and Farmington branches of Skowhegan Savings Bank; Tranten’s locations in Kingfield and Farmington; and at the Carrabassett Valley Information Center. The Kingfield POPS program is subject to change.
