1934 – 2014
Auburn—Carmen Spencer, 80, of 7 Fox Run Dr., Lewiston, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 24, at Androscoggin Home Health Hospice in Auburn.
She was born in Lewiston, Feb. 26, 1934, the daughter of John and Mildred Champagne. In 1953, she met and married her soulmate, Clint Spencer, of Lewiston.
She is survived by a daughter, Cindy Spencer of Leeds; a son, Roland of Lewiston. Carmen and Clint took in many foster children over the years. One young person who kept in close contact with the family came to be her “son,” Bobby, and he also survives. He resides in Florida with his wife and family. She is also survived by her youngest brother, Roland Champagne and his wife of Etna; and also many nephews and nieces.
Carmen was predeceased by her husband; her parents; and her brother, Phil Champagne of Florida.
Mom went to meet God and her husband during the early morning of Jan. 24, when her spirit, who was herself, went to her heavenly reward. She was surrounded by her loving son and daughter and her constant companion, her dog, Cricket.
