WILTON — Liquor and merchandise valued at over $1,000 was taken during a burglary at the Wilson Lake Country Club between 9 p.m. Sunday and 5 a.m. Monday, Wilton Police Chief Heidi Wilcox said.

Someone forced their way into the building and took a quantity of alcohol and golfing merchandise, she said. The merchandise included towels, hats, socks, golf balls and specialty gloves. A wall-mounted Hisense television also was taken.

Police ask anyone who may have seen something while passing by the golf course on Route 156 or noticed anyone suspicious in that area to call 207-645-4222 or email Wilcox at chief_wilcox@wpdme.com.
