FARMINGTON — Now that summer vacation is finally here, families are looking for fun and educational activities to enjoy with their children.

Keeping students engaged and learning while still having fun is a big priority for families today, but discovering new educational ideas can often be challenging. Apps, e-books, online educational videos and internet access can all enhance the learning experience while away from the classroom. With cutting-edge devices such as the 4G LTE iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2, families can connect in a different way this summer.

According to a recent U.S. Cellular survey, 76 percent of smartphone owners own a tablet. U.S. Cellular wants to show Farmington residents the tips and tricks of using their devices to the fullest for their summer vacation.

On Wednesday, June 17 from 9 to 10 a.m. at 642 Wilton Rd. in Farmington, U.S. Cellular is offering a free Device Workshop where current or potential smartphone users can ask questions and learn about any device they are interested in. The workshop is open to everyone, and you don’t have to be a U.S. Cellular customer to attend.

“We want the Farmington community to feel confident they can get the most out of their devices while enjoying their summer,” said Matt Kasper, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in New England. “No matter if you are stuck indoors on a rainy day, hanging poolside or traveling coast to coast, your device allows you to stay connected and entertained this summer.”

Anyone who attends the workshop will have the opportunity to win an iPad Mini 3. Four iPad Mini 3 devices will be awarded each month across the organization.

Please call 207-778-4101 to RSVP to this Device Workshop.
