BRUNSWICK — Maine State Music Theatre presents “Fame”for one night only on at 7:30 p.m., Monday, June 15.

An unmistakable title from the unforgettable film and television franchise, “Fame” inspired generations to fight for fame and light up the sky like a flame. This high-octane musical features the Academy Award-winning title song and a host of other catchy pop numbers.
“Fame” follows the final class of New York City’s celebrated High School for the Performing Arts from their admission in 1980 to their graduation in 1984. All of the struggles, fears, and triumphs are depicted with razor-sharp focus as the young artists navigate the worlds of music, drama, and dance.
The cast includes members of MSMT’s Education Fellowship Program and local Maine actors, including Matt West of Farmington.
The full cast includes Alec Cohen of Falmouth as Nick; Stefanie Sable as Serena, James Spencer Dean as Joe, Deangelo Renard as Tyrone, Reagan Danel Ogle as Carmen, Sara Bond as Iris, Leah K. Nicoll as Mabel, Benjamin Henley as Schlomo, Sarah Kennedy of Gorham as Grace; Matt West of Farmington as Goody; Ray Dumont of Portland as Mr. Sherman, Jenny Brown of Topsham as Mrs. Bell; Cameron Wright of Gorham as Mr. Ryers; Glenn Anderson of Saco as Mr. Sheinkopf, and Jordan Lipes, Dancing on Sidewalk Feature.
Directed by MSMT Artistic Director Curt Dale Clark, the show is produced entirely by the 2015 MSMT Intern Company.
