Evelyn Donald Durrell
1927-2015
Evelyn Donald Durrell, 87, of Jay, died suddenly late Tuesday evening at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington. She was born in North Jay, July 20, 1927, a daughter of John and Georgina (Stevenson) Donald, Sr.
After graduating from Jay High School in 1945, she worked for Wilton Trust Company and later for H. E. Kyes Insurance Agency. She retired from Central Maine Power Company, Augusta, in 1989 after 20 years of service.
On Dec. 24, 1947, she married Phillips H. Durrell. He passed Jan. 5, 2007. They celebrated 59 years of marriage. She was a long-time member of the Bartlett Memorial Methodist Church of North Jay where she was organist for several years and Treasurer of the Trustees. She was a former member of Woodbine Temple #47 Pythian Sisters for several years. She enjoyed doing needlepoint, counted cross stitch, crocheting, reading, and watching the Red Sox.
She is survived by three daughters, Judith R. Gidney and her husband Raymond of Windsor; Diane L. Durrell of Winslow; and Frances D. Spiotta of Jay; Five grandchildren, Karen Goedtzfridt- Gidney and partner, Angela, Chris Gidney and his wife, Sandi; Ryan Newgard and his wife, Danielle; Patrick Spiotta and his wife Melody; and Adam Spiotta and his wife, Erica; 12 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Phillips, her four brothers, John, Jr., George, Alex, and David, sister, Fanny, and son-in-law Michael J. Spiotta;

Durrell – died at Farmington, Tuesday, May 26, 2015, Evelyn Donald Durrell, 87, of Jay. Funeral services were held on Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Wiles Remembrance Center, 136 High St., Wilton. Relatives and friends were invited to call one hour prior to the services. Interment followed at Lakeview Cemetery in Wilton. Cynthia L. Dyke Osgood
1934-2015
Cynthia L. Dyke Osgood, 80, of Farmington, died the afternoon of May 25, 2015 at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME. Her passing was the result of complications following heart surgery.
She was born on June 29, 1934 in East Dixfield, ME. The daughter of Milford and Thelma (Butterfield) Dyke. She received her education in The Wilton schools, graduating from Wilton Academy in 1952. She later graduated from Husson College, now known as Husson University. Cynthia was also a member of the Rebekahs (Wilton Lodge).
On April 21, 1957 she married Thornton Ellis Osgood in Wilton. They made their home in East Dixfield. She enjoyed spending her summers at Dummer’s Beach in Weld, at Sand Pond in Chesterville and at their Camp in Eustis with her family and friends.
Cynthia was employed at Keyes Insurance Agency in Wilton for many years. She managed their office in Rumford, and later joined their group in Farmington as part of the Commercial Lines division. After retiring from Keyes, she enjoyed traveling to Leesburg, FL where she and her husband would spend their winters. In later years, she also enjoyed traveling to New York to visit her grandchildren and great-grandson. Cynthia was also an avid reader, looked forward to attending the Farmington Fair and relished being with her beloved dog Chelsea. She also valued spending time with her cousin, Judy Trask of Wilton.
She is survived by her sons Kim Osgood and his wife Darrah of Clifton Park, NY, Kelly Osgood and his companion Jenn of North Jay, ME; her grandchildren Brooke Pancoe and her husband Ross of Halfmoon, NY, Cole Osgood and his wife Kelsey of Glenville, NY; her great-grandson Griffin Osgood of Glenville, NY; her brother-in-law Spencer Osgood and his companion Fran Dupont of Cocoa Beach, FL; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, her parents and a brother, Dale Dyke.
OSGOOD – died, at Portland, 5/25/2015, Cynthia L. Dyke Osgood, 80, of Farmington. Public memorial services was held on Monday June 1, at 10 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery, Wilton. Following services, all were invited to a reception at Calzolaio Pasta Company, Wilton.

Vivian L. Burhoe
1934-2015
Vivian L. Burhoe, 80, a resident of Old Jay Hill Road, Jay, passed away Saturday, May 30th at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.
She was born Nov. 20, 1934 in Jay, the daughter of Eugene Pomerleau, Sr. and Alma Rose Pomerleau. She was a 1953 graduate of Jay High School. On Sept. 20, 1954 in Wilton, she married Bryce Burhoe of Jay. He passed away Jan. 6, 1991.
Vivian worked for many years in the office at Forster Manufacturing in Wilton. She enjoyed cooking, going to camp, and playing dominoes. Her true enjoyment in life, however, was the time spent with her family and grandchildren. Her grandchildren were the center of her world and you would usually find them wrapped within her arms. Vivian was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and loved devoting her time to her family and home.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathryn Wilbur and lifelong companion, Ronald Sencabaugh of Jay; two grandchildren, Starr Baxter and husband Mark of Augusta; and Alex Wilbur also of Augusta; two great-grandchildren, Brady and Evahlyn Baxter; her brother, Norman Pomerleau and his wife Honey of Jay; and her sister, Pauline Jepson and her husband Harlan of Wilton; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shirley and Donald LeSuer; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Halstead and Sherry Burhoe; brother-in-law, Rene Bibeau; and sister-in-law Betty Pomerleau, all of Jay; and many nieces and nephews.

Robert J. Barker Sr.
1946-2015
Robert J. Barker Sr., 69, a resident of East Jay Road, Jay, died suddenly early Sunday morning, May 31, at his home.
He was born May 16, 1946, in Island Falls, the son of Leland and Mary (Shean) Barker. Bob attended school in Island Falls. He served in the National Guard. On July 3, 1965, he married Katherine Wyman and had two children. She passed away on May 20, 1996. He later married Mary Ann Hebert on April 5, 1997, and made their home in Jay.
Bob worked construction most of his life as a heavy equipment operator. He worked for R.J. Grondin in Gorham and recently retired in 2013. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling and anything to do with the outdoors. He and Mary Ann enjoyed going to their camp on Alder Stream and camping in Dixfield. Bob also took much pride in watching and helping in his grandson Brandon’s racing.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Barker of Jay; his son, Robert Barker Jr. and his wife, Marybeth, of Windham; his daughter, Julie Barker-Dudley and her husband, Robert III, of Windham; two stepsons, Steven Todd Hewins and his companion, Angel, of Fayette; and Craig Hewins and his wife, Breanne, of Fayette; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Donna Baker of Island Falls; Linda Raymond and husband, Bert, of Sherman; and Karen Thebarge and husband, Paul, of Morrill; brother-in-law, Larry Roberge and his wife, Darlene, of Yarmouth; father-in-law, Gene Belanger of Jay; brothers-in-law, William Hebert of Jay, Steve Hebert of Dixfield, and Palmer Hebert and wife, Kelli, of Livermore Falls; also his best little buddy his dog, “Hunter.”
He was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Katherine; his sister, Robin Robinson; brother-in-law, Albert Baker; mother-in-law, Annie Belanger; and father-in-law, Robert “Gus” Hebert.
